Alx Fox is an artist whose years of study made it clear that Alx's life would be centered upon her passion for art and self-expression. My art reflects life, and the layers of changes that impact it. Alx is a professional full-time artist living in the Northwest. Alx is currently on the Board of Directors of the Rogue Gallery and Art Center, Medford, Oregon. As an abstract expressionist I am driven by my passion for self-expression through art. For me creating abstract art is a meditative journey. I feel that a blank canvas is not something to be afraid of but an opportunity for an infinite number of unique creative expressions. As in life it is more satisfying to focus on the journey rather than the destination. My works enable me to experiment with an endless combination of colors, textures tools and ideas. Each step in the creative process allows for the opportunity to express any emotion enhancing the image with each and every layer. Working in the abstract grants the opportunity for endless creativity while inciting the viewer.
Alx Fox is a fine art abstract expressionist painter and instructor who uses bold blended colors and distinctive textures. She studied photography, art history and design at Barat College, Lake Forest, Ill which led her into a career working in oil and acrylics that has allowed for more freedom of expression and thus increased her focus on experimental art. She was President of the Southern Oregon Society of Artists from January 2012 through 2014, and was Vice President in 2011. Her work is in private collections worldwide and has been showcased in many national shows. She has also been a National Show Judge and conducts workshops throughout the United States. Alx is a member of the Southern Oregon Artists Guild, Kerby, OR, and the Rogue Gallery and Art Center, Medford, OR.
I use a variety of mediums, such as digital, acrylic and ink. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
